Mechanical Craftsperson - Cranes TATA Steel

Are you an experienced Mechanical Craftsperson? Do you consider yourself to be proactive and an asset to a busy team? Are you based in or around Shotton?

We have a permanent Mechanical Craftsperson role available within TATA Steel’s Shotton site. This role is ideal for someone who considers themself to be hands on and is a time served experienced fitter from within a heavy industrial environment. Only applicants with a UK based time served Mechanical apprenticeship will be considered.

Role: Mechanical Craftsperson - Cranes

Location: TATA Steel, Shotton Works, Shotton Records Centre, Deeside CH5 2NH

Salary: £33,477 - £36,651 + Bonus

Start: ASAP but pending the successful result of a medical assessment. (This does include a drug and alcohol test)

Responsibilities:

Mechanical maintenance, refurbishment and repair of mechanical equipment within the cranes department

*

Undertaking preventative and corrective maintenance on overhead travelling cranes

*

Repairing mechanical items to a high standard

*

Following existing drawings

*

Assisting with the development of design for manufacture of spares for cranes

*

Repairing and refurbishing existing equipment

*

Undertaking work for workshops, auxiliary plant and downshifts as needed

*

Carrying out risk assessments and LOLERs
