THE BUSINESS


Westray Recruitment Group is seeking to recruit to a Mechanical (Bias) Maintenance Technician to work day shift for our client in the South Tyneside area.

THE ROLE


  • You will work within the maintenance team to carry out planned preventative maintenance activities as scheduled
  • Working to fix cnc based production machinery
  • You will take part in projects including the introduction of new plant and equipment
  • You will react effectively to plant and equipment breakdowns minimising downtime where possible, assisting in metalwork fabrication if required
  • You will carry out a mixture of mechanical and some electrical repairs
  • You will liaise with offsite engineers and contractors when planning repairs
  • You will maintain a service and log of all repairs and service records
  • Maintain a safe and tidy working environment ensuring H&S regulations are followed



THE PERSON


  • You will have experience of FMCG, manufacturing or production environment
  • Experienced working with hydraulic systems, gear boxes, motors, bearings, compressor systems, overhead cranes, sensors, valves, etc.
  • You must hold recognised engineering qualifications, City & Guilds or equivalent
  • Must be able to display an electrical skill set as part of multi skilling
  • It is advantageous to hold BS 7671 18th edition although not essential
  • You will be a flexible, self-motivated person who can troubleshoot, investigate, locate and repair faults
  • You can work with minimum supervision, independently and as part of a team.
