We have a fantastic opportunity for a Mechanic to join us and play a pivotal role in the success of the depot by ensuring that our customers can hire what they want, when they need it through the efficient servicing and maintaining a variety of vehicles within the SIXT Van & Truck fleet. As part of our high-performing depot team, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing vehicles either on site at our Depot in Stansted or at a customers location. YOUR ROLE AT SIXT

  • Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and servicing on vans and trucks
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic equipment
  • Carry out repairs including brakes, suspension, engine work, steering, exhausts, and transmission
  • Conduct MOT preparation and post-rental inspections
  • Ensure all work meets DVSA, manufacturer, and SIXT safety and quality standards
  • Maintain accurate service and repair records
  • Communicate vehicle issues and repair timelines with operations and fleet teams
  • Adhere to workshop safety protocols and maintain a clean, orderly workspace
  • Support in breakdown recovery or mobile servicing when required
  • Use OEM or approved replacement parts in line with warranty and lease agreements
  • Adhere to all health and safety procedures and company policies




YOUR SKILLS MATTER

  • Adaptability You excel in a dynamic environment and can work under pressure, both independently and as part of a team
  • Attention to Detail You have a keen eye for detail, ensuring accurate completion of all handover paperwork and vehicle inspections
  • Communication You have strong communication skills, enabling clear and friendly interactions with customers, even in busy settings
  • Flexibility You are open to work on a shift rotation to cover branch operating hours, ensuring continuous service
  • Driving License You hold a valid driving license and bring a minimum of 12 months driving experience
  • Proven experience working as a mechanic/ in a field-based role with a relevant mechanical qualification or time served is essential
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills and familiarity with vehicle diagnostic tools and workshop equipment
  • Knowledge of HSE regulations and safe workshop practices
