Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Mechanic to join our reputable family run garage. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of vehicles, ensuring they deliver high quality service with a "right first time" approach. MOT experince is preferred but not compulsory. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for automotive mechanics and a commitment to delivering a high standard to join the team.
Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive vehicle inspections to identify mechanical issues and safety concerns
Perform repairs and maintenance on various vehicle systems, including engines, brakes, suspension, and electrical components
Carry out MOT testing in compliance with legal and safety requirements. (Training is available if the candidate is not already qualified to complete MOTs).
Use hand tools and power tools effectively to carry out repairs and diagnostics
Maintain accurate records of all work carried out and parts used
Ensure workshop cleanliness and adhere to health and safety regulations at all times
Assist colleagues with complex repairs when required
Manage heavy lifting tasks safely using appropriate techniques and equipment
Skills
Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to diagnose faults efficiently
Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools for repair tasks
Experience in performing MOT tests is xcunqrw highly desirable but not compulsory
Ability to lift heavy objects safely and handle physically demanding tasks
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail
Good communication skills to explain technical issues clearly to customers
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
