Thales UK is hiring Manufacturing Technicians - Naval, Wiring, Mechanical, and Test in Glasgow. The role is part of the OME department and involves delivering outputs from the relevant work cell in line with business requirements. The company offers flexibility in working patterns to support work-life balance.

Location, Employment Type and Hours

Location: Glasgow, United Kingdom

Role: FTC (12 months) / Permanent

Hours: 4 day week, Monday–Thursday, 37 hours per week. Start time is flexible between 6:00am and 7:30am; 30 minutes unpaid lunch. On-site parking and canteen are provided.

Responsibilities
  • Perform complex manufacturing operations in accordance with the associated documentation in a timely and professional manner.
  • Assemble products to high quality standards, including mechanical and optical components, with attention to ESD-sensitive components.
  • Align opto-mechanical systems and complete functional testing per production documentation and acceptance tests.
  • Self-assess products and adhere to defined company processes; escalate technical blockers to the Manufacturing Engineer.
  • Log and escalate quality non-conformances to the Inspector or Quality representative; contribute to diagnostics and root-cause analysis when able.
  • Support continuous improvement actions and use company tools (ERP/Oracle, Palma) for assembly and test tasks.
  • Manage and record build configuration of products; escalate Health & Safety issues to the Work Cell Manager and log incidents as appropriate for H&S leadership.
Experience and Qualifications
  • Experience building mechanical assemblies and interpreting drawings/diagrams.
  • Clear communication with stakeholders and ability to follow processes/instructions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work on own initiative when required.
  • Eligible to obtain full SC clearance; Baseline and Security Clearance may be required (evidence may be requested).
