We’re seeking a skilled, hands-on Maintenance Technician who’s ready to take ownership of the physical and operational upkeep of our hotel. From Health & Safety leadership to day-to-day repairs, this role is ideal for someone who takes pride in doing things right the first time.

To support your move, we offer short-term accommodation for your initial settling-in period, giving you time and space to find your feet and arrange something longer-term.

What You’ll Be Doing

  1. Lead all Planned and Preventative Maintenance (bedrooms, plant rooms, equipment, etc.)
  2. Take ownership of Health & Safety compliance and due diligence
  3. Maintain all physical and electronic records, certificates, and logs
  4. Chair the hotel’s Health & Safety Committee
  5. Liaise with contractors and suppliers for repairs, servicing, and installations
  6. Manage the maintenance budget with an eye for cost-efficiency
  7. Carry out risk assessments and document all incidents (including RIDDOR)
  8. Train staff in key areas: H&S, fire panel/evacuation, manual handling
  9. Respond promptly to team and guest maintenance requests
  10. Perform routine repairs in lighting, plumbing, electrics, carpentry, and decorating
  11. Execute regular fire alarm, sprinkler, and water safety tests
  12. Operate technical systems (BMS, HVAC) and hotel platforms (Opera, GXP)
  13. Maintain clean and safe workspaces, indoors and out—including green areas
  14. Read and record energy usage and meter data

What We’re Looking For

  1. Proven hands-on experience with HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems
  2. Solid understanding of Health & Safety regulations and record-keeping
  3. Experience with minor repairs: lighting, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and decorating
  4. Able to work independently and stay well organized
  5. Physically fit and comfortable with manual work
  6. Friendly, professional, and a natural team player
  7. Fluent English speaker with clear communication skills
  8. Confident using tech systems and tools
  9. Experience managing Planned and Preventative Maintenance programmes
  10. Familiarity with fire/life safety systems (e.g., sprinklers, alarms, panels)
  11. Knowledge of hotel tech systems like BMS, GXP, and Opera
  12. Ability to train colleagues in core H&S and operational areas
  13. Prior involvement in Health & Safety Committees
