Physiotherapy Healthcare Support Worker – Aberdeen Royal Infirmary

We are looking for an experienced HCSW to join the Acute Physiotherapy Team at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.


About the role


You will support physiotherapists to deliver care to patients within the Medicine and Unscheduled Care portfolio. A key part of the role will be to hold a delegated caseload of patients and provide treatments and interventions within a defined framework.


You will work both independently and collaboratively, using your own initiative and problem solving skills. You will help patients to gain safe and independent mobility and support discharge planning.


Hours: 37 hours per week
Band 4


Band 4 and 7 days a week service – you will be a core part of the new weekend service at commencement of this post.


What we are looking for



  • Several years’ experience as a HCSW within a therapy team or ward setting, or hold an SVQ Health Care qualification or equivalent.
  • Previous experience or knowledge of exercise or work in a medical setting.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to engage patients, family members/carers and the multi-disciplinary team.
  • Motivated, able to handle a changeable workload and work across other specialties within the Acute Sector.
