2. The Role

Are you ready to contribute to our elite player performance programme? This is more than a Physiotherapist role—it is a unique, high-impact opportunity to represent Aston Villa across the top tiers of UK and European football.

  • Navigate the Elite Landscape: You will be working behind-the-scenes in Premier League, European and EFL environments.
  • Lead with Independence: Enjoy a high level of autonomy as you rehab, travel, building vital professional relationships across multiple clubs.
  • Influence the Future: Take genuine ownership of player support, directly impacting key transition moments and the long-term success of our existing and rising stars.

Your Impact: Bridge the Gap

Embedded within our First Team and Emerging Talent MDT, you will be an integral link for our ‘On Loan’ players. Your mission is to ensure that wherever our talent goes, the “Villa Standard” goes with them. You will:



  • Maintain world-class alignment in player centred rehabilitation and performance development
  • Uphold rigorous return-to-performance standards between Aston Villa and partner clubs.
  • Optimise player health and availability to ensure every loan spell is a resounding success.

3. The Person

We are seeking a highly motivated, elite-level Physiotherapist who speaks the language of the First Team. You understand the demands of professional football and possess the communication skills to influence stakeholders both nationally and internationally.


To be considered for this role, you will need to hold the following qualifications/registrations:



  • BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy (minimum 2:1)
  • MSc in Physiotherapy or Sports Science related subject
  • Membership to the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) and registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)

You will be an organised, analytical and proactive Physiotherapist who is comfortable working independently as well as within a multi-stakeholder MDT across the Emerging Talent and Men’s First Team. You will be able to demonstrate previous experience of delivering high quality physiotherapy provision support in a full-time capacity in an elite professional environment, ideally in a First Team or Loans setting. Confident building relationships with staff at external loans clubs, you will represent Aston Villa’s performance standards in a variety of environments, manage multiple stakeholders while keeping the player’s development and availability at the centre of your work.


The role requires a flexible approach to working hours, including weekends, in line with the demands of elite football. A full UK driving licence is essential.
