About the job you’re considering

The work is to both identify and create solutions within the Intelligent Industry (Industry 4.0) banner which is a collection of multiple technologies tailored to deliver improvements in productivity, lead-time, information, IoT technologies, asset management etc. often within several parallel projects and industries. The primary task is to undertake the development and maintenance of professional solution requirement specifications and to gain acceptance of these from internal and external stakeholders within quality controls and timeframes specified under related service levels.

Responsibilities

  • Provide internal consultation and Integration Systems expertise to support projects
  • Responsible for conducting research on existing systems and devising solutions that work within those systems. You will also meet directly with clients to demonstrate solutions, answer questions regarding capabilities and requirements and work to resolve issues that arise during the development or product life cycle
  • Engage with customers and stakeholders to elicit system needs and constraints
  • Work with the Bid & Project Manager roles to estimate the cost based on alternative solutions and approaches

    Hybrid working: The places that you work from day to day will vary according to your role, your needs, and those of the business; it will be a blend of Company offices, client sites, and your home; noting that you will be unable to work at home 100% of the time.

    If you are successfully offered this position, you will go through a series of pre-employment checks, including:

    Your role

  • Strong knowledge and application of Industry 4.0 technologies such as IoT, Historians, SCADA, Edge computing, cyber security, digital twins, digital control towers etc.
  • Technically leading complex projects throughout their complete lifecycle from requirements capture to handover and knowledge transfer
  • Experience in using multiple tools within an enterprise environment
  • Excellent at troubleshooting
  • Experience utilising COTS products to fit within Defense industry, such as Siemens, PTC, SAP
  • Experience of working within a large-scale organisation, able to work as part of a team, excellent organisations and time keeping skills, strong written and verbal skills
  • Understanding how technology can be used to solve a given business problem

    Your skills and experience

  • Minimum of a Bachelors degree in a relevant subject and with solid progression of subjects in the following or similar fields is advantageous:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent education or work experience
  • Minimum of 3 – 5 years of experience related to OT Engineer roles
  • Expertise with personal computers in a secure network environment and Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and SharePoint) or similar software

    Your security clearance

    To be successfully appointed to this role, it is a requirement to obtain Security Check (SC) clearance.

    To obtain SC clearance, the successful applicant must have resided continuously within the United Kingdom for the last 5 years, along with other criteria and requirements.
