Highly Specialist Outpatient MSK & First Contact Physiotherapist

We are looking for an enthusiastic, skilled, self-motivated Band 7 Adult Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist to join our Bishop's Castle Team. This busy department provides a high standard of MSK physiotherapy assessment and treatment to the local community of Bishops Castle and surrounding areas.

The post holder will work as an autonomous practitioner providing evidence based physiotherapy assessment and treatment within the out-patient team to clients with a range of musculoskeletal condition. There will be a requirement to support and mentor junior clinicians. Your role will also include supporting the MSST Integrated service by assisting with triage of incoming referrals for a wide range of MSK specialities including physiotherapy, podiatry and hand therapy. You may be required to support some of our other clinical sites.

This role also comprises of First Contact Practitioner (Physiotherapy) hours that are delivered from either the Bishops Castle Hospital site or from Bishops Castle Medical Practice.

• To assess, diagnose/interpret and manage own highly specialist caseload of complex musculoskeletal patients as an autonomous physiotherapist in accordance with Professional Code of Conduct and Health and Care Professions Council Regulations, within both an outpatient and Primary Care environment.
  
• To develop, through experience and postgraduate training, the highly specialist knowledge and clinical skills required for working within an MSK outpatient / Primary Care setting.
  
• To triage onward referrals from physio departments to ensure thresholds are met, where they are not to provide the support, mentoring and training required to develop more junior staff to ensure evidenced based treatment is provided.

• Diploma / Degree in Physiotherapy.
  
• Registered with HCPC.
  
• Evidence of Continuing Professional Development including attendance at recent post graduate courses relevant to musculoskeletal physiotherapy.

• Evidence of teaching / presentation experience.
  
• Experience in audit and research.
  
• Experience of delegation and supervision.
  
• Extensive post registration experience working at a senior level within speciality area.
