HGV Mechanic / Fitter - Tamworth

£17.00 - £22.00 per hour (depending on experience)

Full Time | Monday-Saturday / Tuesday-Saturday

Tamworth

We are currently recruiting for an experienced HGV Mechanic / Fitter on behalf of our client based in Tamworth. This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy and well-established operation, working within a professional yard environment.

The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining the company's fleet, ensuring vehicles and trailers remain mechanically sound and legally roadworthy.

Working Hours
  • Monday - Saturday or Tuesday - Saturday

  • 09:00 - 18:00 or 10:00 - 19:00

  • Saturday availability is essential.

Pay

£17.00 - £22.00 per hour depending on experience.

Key Duties
  • Ensuring vehicles and trailers are mechanically sound and legally roadworthy

  • Completing repairs to vehicles and trailers in a timely manner

  • Carrying out services including oil and filter changes

  • Performing Periodic Maintenance Inspections (PMI).

  • Advising on Vehicle Off Road (VOR) issues.

  • Preparing vehicles for MOT testing.

  • Attending remote breakdowns when required

  • Repairing or replacing tyres where necessary

  • Reporting any issues affecting road safety

  • Ensuring all maintenance documentation is completed and up to date

  • Supporting with general yard maintenance duties

Requirements
  • Previous experience as an HGV Mechanic / Fitter or similar role

  • Strong mechanical knowledge of HGV vehicles and trailers

  • Good work ethic and ability to work independently

  • Ability to diagnose and resolve faults efficiently
