Location: Stoke on Trent


Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 + Overtime + Benefits- depending on overtime


Job Type: Full Time | Permanent


Hours: Monday - Friday + Overtime Available


HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic Required

We are currently recruiting an experienced HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / Heavy Vehicle Technician to join our busy and growing workshop.


This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled HGV Mechanical Engineer or HGV Fitter looking for a stable role with strong earning potential, overtime opportunities, and long-term career progression.


Our workshop maintains a modern fleet of Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs) and commercial vehicles, ensuring all vehicles remain compliant, safe, and roadworthy.


HGV Technician Responsibilities

  • Servicing, maintaining, and repairing HGVs and heavy commercial vehicles
  • Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults on HGV trucks
  • Carrying out HGV inspections, safety checks, and preventative maintenance
  • Performing MOT preparation and compliance checks
  • Repairing or replacing major components such as engines, gearboxes, braking systems, and suspension
  • Ensuring all work meets DVSA safety and compliance standards
  • Maintaining accurate service records

HGV Technician Requirements

  • Proven experience as an HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic, Heavy Vehicle Technician, or HGV Engineer
  • NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (preferred)
  • Strong diagnostic and mechanical repair skills
  • Experience working on HGV trucks or commercial vehicles
  • Full UK driving licence (Class 1 or Class 2 advantageous)
