Mechanic / Technician

Location:Stoke-on-Trent
Job Type:Full-time
Salary:£40,000£45,000 per year (dependent on experience)

About the Role

We atWork Lyf Groupare recruiting on behalf of our well-established, family-run client who operate a large and varied fleet. They are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Technician to join their team.

This position is ideal for someone who is knowledgeable, professional, and committed to delivering high-quality workmanship.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out routine safety inspections
  • Complete pre-MOT preparation and rectify defects
  • Perform emergency and breakdown repairs as required
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults and carry out effective repairs
  • Work flexibly and remain calm under pressure, including occasional overtime during busy periods
  • Undertake welding and fabrication tasks (desirable but not essential)
  • Maintain compliance with DVSA standards and company maintenance procedures
  • Keep the workshop and work areas clean, tidy, and safe
  • Accurately complete job cards and all associated paperwork
  • Follow all company rules, regulations, and health & safety requirements

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years experience.
  • Strong understanding of health & safety practices
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good diagnostic and problem-solving skills
  • Welding/fabrication experience beneficial but not required
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of workmanship and compliance
