Are you a seasoned network expert with a passion for innovation in IoT connectivity? My client, a cutting-edge Mobile Network Operator specializing in IoT services, is looking for a Head of Networks to lead the build, design, and operation of its Mobile Core Network and infrastructure.

About the Role

My client is a pioneer in seamless IoT connectivity, managing millions of active SIMs worldwide. With a network built primarily in-house, they enable Partners to deliver reliable and innovative IoT solutions across multiple industries.

As the Head of Networks, you will take charge of designing, deploying, and maintaining the core network and infrastructure, ensuring it operates efficiently to support groundbreaking IoT solutions. This leadership role includes mentoring a skilled team of telecom and infrastructure engineers.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the design, deployment, configuration, and maintenance of the Mobile Core Network (HLR/HSS, STP/DRA, PGW, IMS) and underlying infrastructure (Switching, Routing, Data Centres, Servers).

Oversee the connectivity management platform, including Radius, OCS, and BSS.

Mentor and develop a high-performing team of telecom and infrastructure engineers.

Troubleshoot and resolve network-related issues, ensuring seamless operations and acting as the key escalation point.

Manage network infrastructure projects, including upgrades, expansions, and new deployments.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate new Partners and Suppliers.

Ensure compliance with security policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.

Maintain comprehensive documentation of all network systems and processes.

Participate in on-call support for critical infrastructure operations.

What We’re Looking For:

Proven experience leading a network team in a mission-critical environment, preferably within mobile or telecommunications.

Deep understanding of telecom protocols such as SS7, GTP, Diameter, MAP, CAMEL, AAA, SMPP, SIP, VoLTE, etc.

Expertise in mobile network elements including HLR/HSS, PGW/GGSN, STP/DRA, IMS, and SMSC.

Strong knowledge of Core network protocols (IPv4, BGP, OSPF, MPLS) with experience in vendors such as Cisco, Nexus, and Fortinet.

Proficiency in Linux (Ubuntu, HAProxy) and Microsoft (IIS, MS-SQL) server administration.

Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, Terraform, and Kubernetes is beneficial.

Knowledge of scripting (Powershell/Bash) or coding (C#/.Net) is an advantage.

Familiarity with security technologies including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and VPNs.

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
