Overview

To provide a high standard Hand Therapy service within the Hand Injuries Unit, working alone occasionally and as part of the team within Hounslow & Richmond Community Healthcare NHS Trust.

Depending on service requirements: supervision of Therapy Assistant and students.

Responsibilities
  • Provide a high quality Hand Therapy service working under the guidance of more senior Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists and in lone worker environments in Plastics Hand clinics.
  • Work as an autonomous practitioner in providing specialist hand therapy, assessment and treatment of patients with diverse presentations and complex hand injuries and conditions.
  • Provide a diagnosis, develop and deliver an individualised treatment programme.
  • Use evidence based principles, current best practice and specialist skills to assess, plan, implement and evaluate treatment.
  • Maintain a high standard of clinical work which includes teaching and supervision of junior staff, assistants and students.
