Graduate Opportunity - Product Operations Associate

My client is experiencing continuous growth in an exciting, emerging sector and they're looking for an early-career graduate to join them on this journey - offering an exceptional pathway into the cutting-edge agri-tech industry.

This is your opportunity to get hands-on with innovative IoT technology whilst building a career with a forward-thinking company that's powering into one of the most important growth industries of our time.

As a Product Operations Associate, you'll be instrumental in rolling out revolutionary poultry farm management systems that combine automated sensors with farmer co-designed software to transform productivity, animal welfare, and sustainability across the industry. This role gives you the chance to bridge hardware preparation, logistics, customer liaison, and installation planning - you'll configure IoT kits including routers, gateways, and sensors, assemble product enclosures, conduct quality assurance testing, and manage stock coordination with suppliers.

You'll package and ship products to farms, plan deployment timelines, and conduct on-site visits for pre-install surveys and post-install follow-ups. Working directly with farmers, you'll adapt kit configurations to meet site-specific needs whilst gathering invaluable product feedback to share with the engineering team. This Product Operations Associate position is perfect for someone who's technically curious, practical, and equally comfortable in a workshop setting as they are visiting farm sites across the country.

The ideal Product Operations Associate will be an early-career professional or graduate with a genuine interest in getting their hands dirty - both literally and figuratively. You'll be comfortable with hands-on assembly and configuration work, tech-literate with a basic knowledge of hardware systems, and an organised communicator who can speak clearly with farmers and internal teams alike. A full UK driving licence and access to a car is essential for farm visits, and you'll be someone who thrives working both independently and collaboratively. If you have an interest in agri-tech, IoT, or sustainability, or if you speak additional languages, that would complement this Product Operations Associate role beautifully.

What my client will give you in return:

£24,000 to £28,000 depending on experience, with opportunities to progress as you develop advanced technical skills
33 days annual leave including bank holidays, with additional days awarded for long service and a holiday purchase scheme
Private health insurance and a generous sick pay scheme offering real peace of mind
Enhanced maternity, adoption, and paternity packages, plus sabbatical leave opportunities for long service
My client is an innovative force in agri-tech, developing technology that's genuinely making a difference to animal welfare, sustainability, and farm productivity. Based in Norwich with a hybrid working model, you'll be expected onsite 1-3 days per week at their workshop and warehouse, with the rest of your time spent on farm visits or working remotely. This is a company that's breaking new ground in a growing industry, and they're looking for someone who wants to learn, grow, and be part of something that matters. You'll work with international colleagues, gain exposure to cutting-edge IoT systems, and build expertise that will serve your career for years to come.

If you're ready to launch your career with a Product Operations Associate position that offers genuine progression, hands-on technical experience, and the chance to work in an exciting, purpose-driven industry, get in touch with Select Recruitment today. This is your opportunity to join a company where innovation meets impact

How Many Edge Computing Tools Do You Need to Know to Get an Edge Computing Job?

If you’re trying to start or grow a career in edge computing, it can feel like you’re navigating a maze of tools, frameworks and platforms — Kubernetes, Docker, IoT frameworks, AWS Greengrass, Azure IoT Edge, OpenShift, TinyML toolkits, networking orchestration, real-time streaming frameworks, and on it goes. Scroll job boards and community forums and it’s easy to conclude that unless you master every buzzword imaginable, you’ll never get a job. Here’s the honest truth most edge computing hiring managers won’t necessarily say out loud: 👉 They don’t hire you because you know every edge computing tool — they hire you because you can solve real system problems using the tools you know. Tools matter, yes — but only when they support clear outcomes: reliable systems, performance at scale, secure edge deployments and real business value. So how many edge computing tools do you actually need to know to secure a job? For most edge computing roles, the answer is fewer than you think — and a lot clearer when sorted by fundamentals and roles. This guide shows you what matters, what doesn’t, and how to focus your time wisely so you come across as capable, confident and employable.

What Hiring Managers Look for First in Edge Computing Job Applications (UK Guide)

In today’s fast-evolving tech landscape, edge computing is one of the most sought-after fields — blending distributed systems, embedded systems, networking, cloud, IoT, data and real-time processing. But that also means hiring managers are highly selective. They scan applications fast and look for signals of relevance, impact, technical depth and real-world delivery long before they read every line. This guide demystifies what hiring managers in edge computing look for first in your application — so you can tailor your CV, portfolio and cover letter to jump out of the stack. Whether you’re targeting edge systems roles, embedded IoT edge jobs, edge-native data roles, edge platform engineering or edge-AI positions, this checklist will help you position your experience in a way hiring managers can trust immediately.

The Skills Gap in Edge Computing Jobs: What Universities Aren’t Teaching

Edge computing is rapidly moving from niche concept to critical infrastructure. As organisations deploy connected devices, sensors, autonomous systems and real-time analytics, processing data closer to where it is generated has become essential. From smart cities and manufacturing to healthcare, transport, defence and telecommunications, edge computing underpins systems where latency, reliability and resilience matter. Demand for edge computing skills across the UK is rising steadily — yet employers consistently report difficulty finding candidates who are genuinely job-ready. Despite growing interest and academic coverage, universities are not fully preparing graduates for real edge computing jobs. This article explores the edge computing skills gap in depth: what universities teach well, what they consistently miss, why the gap exists, what employers actually want, and how jobseekers can bridge the divide to build sustainable careers in edge computing.
