George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Senior Pharmacy Assistant to specialize in procurement and homecare within our dynamic pharmacy department. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to patient care by ensuring the effective management of pharmaceutical supplies and supporting our homecare services.

Main Responsibilities

As a Senior Pharmacy Assistant, you will play a vital role in the pharmacy team, working closely with the Lead Pharmacy Technician to provide day-to-day support in procurement activities. Your duties will include:

  • Dispensing medications in both hospital and community pharmacy settings.
  • Managing stock distribution, goods receipt, and inventory within the main dispensary and ward stock areas.
  • Collaborating with team members to ensure timely and safe delivery of services.
  • Utilizing your strong computer and communication skills to enhance operational efficiency.
Qualifications and Skills

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • An NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services (or equivalent) recognized by the GPhC.
  • Previous experience in dispensing within a hospital or community pharmacy.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A proactive attitude and a willingness to learn and develop within the role.
