Are you an Aircraft Engineer (Mechanical or Avionic/Electrical) who enjoys overseas travel? If so, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.


The Field Service department are currently recruiting for a Field Service Operative to join the team. The main purpose of your role, will be to perform discreet maintenance tasks (modifications, repairs or a package of scheduled maintenance) on customer aircrafts which are based both within the UK and overseas.


Please note that this role is a JFF Level 5/NPC.


What you’ll do as a Field Service Operative (FSO):

  • Work alongside and assist Customer Support Field Service Representatives in providing support to our customer base both in the UK and abroad. Please note, there is a development path to progress to the Field Service Representative role
  • Assisting with the preparatory requirements of the Contractor Working Party (CWP) deployments by assessing the team composition requirements (trade, skills, inspection approval, etc.)
  • Assessing the work instructions to determine GSE, tooling and material requirements
  • Interacting with Leonardo Helicopters (LH) departments company-wide, customers and suppliers to agree and progress CWP plans
  • Monitoring the progress of work to the agreed schedule and budgets, ensuring effective communication is maintained with key stakeholders
  • Managing the day-to-day assigned work requirements within the scope of the pre-defined ‘Statement of Work’, ensuring resources at your disposal are utilised efficiently and effectively
  • Ensuring that all work performed by the CWP comply with the Company Operating System (COS) procedures and relevant maintenance exposition
  • Holding and maintaining company inspection approval on in and out-of-production aircraft (relative to your trade discipline and work experience)
  • Responding at short notice to work requirements in the UK and Overseas for extended periods and be able to operate to irregular work routines and extended hours when the need arises

What we need from you:

  • Completed an Aeronautical Engineering Apprenticeship or Military Equivalent.
  • Engineering qualification (Minimum HNC/BTEC or equivalent)
  • Solid experience working in an aviation type environment with a good sound knowledge of aviation Engineering / Maintenance standards and practices
  • Effective communication skills
  • Previous overseas working experience is desirable

  • All company Mandatory training will be coordinated for you to carry out at a convenient period
  • Engineering Log Books/Competency and Currency periodic checks will be performed to ensure your QS approvals are maintained.
  • Mentoring of shortfall for the role will be provided by experienced personnel within Field Service
