Field Service Technician


Day Shifts - Monday to Friday


Are you ready to take your technical skills on the road and support a network of customer sites? If so, this could be the perfect role for you.


We are looking for a self‑motivated and independent Vehicle Engineer / HGV Technician to travel to customer workshops across a designated area, delivering high‑quality maintenance, diagnostics, and repair services.


Your working day starts when you leave your home. You'll travel directly from your front door in a fully equipped company Light Commercial Vehicle, with all expenses covered.


No two days will be the same. You'll work on a wide range of specialist vehicles and equipment including:



  • HGVs
  • Ground Support Equipment (GSE)
  • RoRo (Roll‑on Roll‑off) vehicles
  • Terminal Tractors
  • Tugs and service vehicles
  • Other bespoke operating platforms

Key Responsibilities

  • Emergency breakdown callouts
  • Preventative maintenance and inspections
  • Pre‑arranged servicing at customer and rural sites
  • MOT preparation
  • Engine work and diagnostic investigations
  • Rectification of running defects
  • Chassis and fabrication work
  • Hydraulics and pneumatic systems
  • Electrical diagnostics, wiring inspections and repairs
  • Supporting improvements in vehicle performance and safety standards

The Future of the Industry

The commercial vehicle industry is evolving rapidly. Electric and Hydrogen vehicles are already part of the present, and you will receive ongoing training on the latest products, systems, and repair techniques to keep your skills current.


Requirements

  • Fully qualified Commercial Vehicle Technician, or completion of a recognised apprenticeship
  • Strong diagnostic and fault‑finding skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage your own schedule
  • Excellent understanding of vehicle systems and repair processes
  • Commitment to working safely and following health & safety procedures
  • A Class 2 (Category C) licence would be beneficial but is not essential

  • The ability to think innovatively and work independently
