Estates Officer – Mechanical


Join Dorset County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust in this key role managing the commencement and effective maintenance of mechanical services for catering equipment and other mechanical assets. You will be responsible for servicing, reactive repairs, deep cleaning, and asset register maintenance, working closely with the catering team, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.


Key responsibilities include:



  • Managing the maintenance of catering equipment, reviewing contracts, organising sub‑contractors, and maintaining an asset register.
  • Leading water safety in accordance with HTM 04‑01, including the implementation, updating and audit of water safety plans, operational control procedures, risk assessments, sampling and monitoring to BS 8552.
  • Maintaining air‑conditioning, refrigeration, and hydro‑pool assets and ensuring all testing requirements are met.
  • Applying national standards, Trust policies and procedures to the role.
  • Co‑ordinating with Senior Estates Officer, Estates Officer Mechanical, Compliance, and Electrical to deliver cost‑controlled day‑to‑day maintenance services and liaise with mechanical and electrical teams and contractors.

If you reside outside of Dorset, you will receive a Warm Welcome payment of £3,500 plus relocation expenses.
