Electrical & Mechanical Engineer


Were looking for a full-time, permanent Electrical & Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Rosyth. In this role, youll be at the heart of our operation - keeping our bakerys production equipment running smoothly and ensuring our 16 retail shops stay up and thriving. With all our products made onsite, theres plenty of machinery under one roof to keep you challenged, and no two days are ever the same.


Youll be part of a small but mighty team, playing a vital role in maintaining the reliability, safety, and efficiency that keeps our business moving.


You will carry out both reactive and planned maintenance across a variety of specialist machinery and systems, including ovens, conveyors, mixers, proofing systems, lighting, refrigeration and more!


What Youll Do

  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain electrical and mechanical bakery and retail equipment
  • Deliver planned preventative maintenance to reduce downtime
  • Respond quickly to breakdowns to minimize production and sales disruption
  • Support installation, commissioning and continuous improvement of new machinery
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety and food hygiene standards
  • Collaborate with engineering, operational, production and sales teams to enhance performance and efficiency
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation

Hours

Full-time, 39 hours per week, working 5 days out of 7. As our business operates 24/7, shift patterns may include evenings, nights, and weekends on a rotational basis. On-call responsibilities are scheduled weekly across the team, with additional hours and flexibility occasionally required to support business needs. This role offers the opportunity to be part of a dynamic, round-the-clock operation, with varied working patterns to suit a continually evolving environment.


What Youll Need

Essential Skills, Experience and Qualifications:



  • 5+ years experience in a similar role with strong electrical engineering responsibilities
  • City & Guilds Electrical Qualification (or equivalent)
  • Solid understanding of Health & Safety legislation
  • Proven multi-skilled technical ability with strong problem-solving skills
  • A collaborative team player with excellent communication skills
  • Resilient under pressure and able to meet tight deadlines
  • Full UK driving licence (no more than 3 penalty points)
  • Physically able to work at height and handle heavy equipment

It is desirable for you to also have experience in the following areas:



  • +5 years bakery or food manufacturing experience
  • Previous involvement with site improvement projects
  • Previous experience in fault finding automated processes and systems e.g. PLCs, inverters and control panels
