We are currently working with a client in the Defence and Security sector who are expanding their London-based team and are looking to hire DevSecOps Engineers with a strong focus on Infrastructure Engineering, across mid to lead level.

This opportunity supports a range of programmes across the Defence, Cyber and Intelligence domains, delivering secure, scalable and high-performing infrastructure solutions within mission-critical environments.

A key requirement for this position is the ability to obtain and maintain high-level security clearance. If you do not currently hold this, support will be provided throughout the application process.

The Role:

As a DevSecOps Engineer with an Infrastructure Engineering focus, you will play a central role in the design, integration, administration and security of systems and applications. You will be responsible for building and maintaining scalable, reliable and secure infrastructure, ensuring it supports complex and evolving technical environments.

You will work within a multi-disciplined team, collaborating across engineering and delivery functions to integrate and deploy features effectively. Depending on your level of experience, you will either contribute to infrastructure delivery (mid-level) or take on additional responsibility for technical ownership, decision-making and guiding engineering activities (lead level).

This role spans the full systems lifecycle, offering exposure to architecture, design, deployment, support, migration and decommissioning activities. You will also have the opportunity to work across Public, Private and Hybrid Cloud environments, helping to optimise performance, scalability and security.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, build, deploy and manage a broad range of IT infrastructure aligned to customer requirements
Apply infrastructure engineering best practices to ensure systems are scalable, reliable and secure
Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and supporting scripts, integrating these into CI/CD pipelines and wider toolchains
Drive automation and repeatability across infrastructure deployments and system integration
Deliver full end-to-end systems lifecycle management, from initial architecture and design through to deployment, support, migration and decommissioning
Support the integration and delivery of large and complex solutions within wider system-of-systems environments
Contribute to integration, testing and deployment activities to ensure optimal performance and reliability
Undertake deployments across Public, Private and Hybrid Cloud environments, identifying constraints and optimising infrastructure performance and security
Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure successful delivery of infrastructure solutions within DevSecOps frameworks
Skills & Experience:

Strong experience within DevSecOps environments, working within Agile methodologies (SCRUM, Sprints)
Experience using tools such as Jira and Confluence for planning and collaboration
Proficiency in Windows and Linux systems administration, including technologies such as Active Directory
Experience with virtualisation technologies and concepts, including VMware vSphere, ARIA Ops performance monitoring and NSX (software-defined networking)
Experience configuring and managing web proxy servers (e.g. Squid)
Strong experience with automation technologies including Terraform, Ansible and Packer for complex builds
Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (e.g. Jenkins)
Understanding of Git-based version control (Git, Bitbucket, GitLab), including integration and branching strategies
Knowledge of containerisation technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
Experience with scripting languages including PowerShell and Bash
Experience using Python
Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, including IPv4 addressing and routing
Experience with logging and monitoring tools such as Zabbix and Splunk
Understanding of cloud technologies and concepts, particularly AWS
Certification (Desirable):

AWS Certification / CCNA Certification / Oracle Java Certification / ISTQB Certification / OSCP Certification / Linux Administration (RHCSA or RHCE) / Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate / Red Hat Certified Specialist in Ansible Automation (EX407) / Terraform / Associate Certification

PLEASE NOTE: eDV clearance is required to start. The process can take up to 18 months

New Edge Computing Employers to Watch in 2026: UK and Global Companies Shaping Edge Innovation

Edge computing is transforming how data is processed by bringing compute power closer to the source of generation. With the proliferation of Internet of Things (IoT), real‑time analytics, autonomous systems, and latency‑sensitive applications, edge computing has moved from a niche discipline to a core component of digital infrastructure. In 2026, organisations that specialise in or heavily invest in edge computing are expanding their teams to build distributed systems, real‑time analytics platforms, and edge‑optimised AI. For professionals exploring opportunities on www.EdgeComputingJobs.co.uk , understanding which employers are growing, winning contracts, or securing investment is essential. This article highlights the new and high‑growth edge computing employers to watch in 2026, including UK startups, international innovators with a UK presence, and established companies shifting strategy toward edge.

How Many Edge Computing Tools Do You Need to Know to Get an Edge Computing Job?

If you’re trying to start or grow a career in edge computing, it can feel like you’re navigating a maze of tools, frameworks and platforms — Kubernetes, Docker, IoT frameworks, AWS Greengrass, Azure IoT Edge, OpenShift, TinyML toolkits, networking orchestration, real-time streaming frameworks, and on it goes. Scroll job boards and community forums and it’s easy to conclude that unless you master every buzzword imaginable, you’ll never get a job. Here’s the honest truth most edge computing hiring managers won’t necessarily say out loud: 👉 They don’t hire you because you know every edge computing tool — they hire you because you can solve real system problems using the tools you know. Tools matter, yes — but only when they support clear outcomes: reliable systems, performance at scale, secure edge deployments and real business value. So how many edge computing tools do you actually need to know to secure a job? For most edge computing roles, the answer is fewer than you think — and a lot clearer when sorted by fundamentals and roles. This guide shows you what matters, what doesn’t, and how to focus your time wisely so you come across as capable, confident and employable.

What Hiring Managers Look for First in Edge Computing Job Applications (UK Guide)

In today’s fast-evolving tech landscape, edge computing is one of the most sought-after fields — blending distributed systems, embedded systems, networking, cloud, IoT, data and real-time processing. But that also means hiring managers are highly selective. They scan applications fast and look for signals of relevance, impact, technical depth and real-world delivery long before they read every line. This guide demystifies what hiring managers in edge computing look for first in your application — so you can tailor your CV, portfolio and cover letter to jump out of the stack. Whether you’re targeting edge systems roles, embedded IoT edge jobs, edge-native data roles, edge platform engineering or edge-AI positions, this checklist will help you position your experience in a way hiring managers can trust immediately.
