Job Summary

Alongside your responsibilities to maintain and ensure the technical operation of all key infrastructure within the Equinix data centres, you will ensure that preventive and corrective maintenance is carried out in a timely and correct manner. We are open to people who are strongly electrically biased and looked to transition into the Data Centre world.


Responsibilities

  • Facility Infrastructure Maintenance:Ensure the seamless operation of our facility infrastructure through diligent maintenance practices
  • Site Inspections & Monitoring:Conduct regular site inspections and monitor building and data centre alarms to ensure optimal performance
  • Preventative Maintenance:Oversee and execute hands on preventative maintenance on site infrastructure, either directly or through vendor management, including managing the permit to work system. (UPS, generators, BMS, chillers, and life safety systems. HV switching experience preferred)
  • Repairs & Corrective Maintenance:Perform and manage repairs and corrective maintenance on critical equipment to maintain uninterrupted service
  • Planned Maintenance:Prepare and execute planned maintenance activities to ensure the reliability of our infrastructure
  • Documentation:Maintain comprehensive site logs and data records, including MOPs (Method of Procedure) and scripts
  • Incident Response:Assist senior staff in responding to on-site incidents and take initiative in handling basic incidents based on your expertise
  • Work Requests & Installations:Complete basic work requests and circuit installations efficiently
  • Infrastructure Projects:Participate actively in ongoing infrastructure projects to enhance our facilities
  • Works Projects:Execute works projects to improve site functionality

Qualifications

  • Educational Background:ONC/BTEC/NVQ or equivalent qualification in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience: water treatment processes, preferably in a data center or industrial setting
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards in the UK
  • Technical Knowledge:In-depth understanding of critical infrastructure, including UPS, generators, BMS, chillers, and life safety systems. HV switching experience preferred
  • Personal Attributes:Self-motivated, flexible, and capable of working independently or as part of a team
