Fulcrum Engineering & Technical are acting as an Employment Business on behalf of our Clients.


Overview

We are recruiting personnel at all levels: Semi‑Skilled, Mates, Ops & Skilled Trades & Techs. Positions cover Mechanical – Pipe Fitting or Fabrication roles depending on applicants’ skill sets & experience. Workers must possess Confined Space Medium Risk or High Risk Certificates or Rescue Techs & Ops Certificates.


Roles & Responsibilities

  • Semi‑Skilled/Mates Mechanical – Pipe Fitters: fit pipe spools, supports, valves, pumps, process machinery components; cut out old sheet/plate with plasma & grinders in vessels, tanks & silos as required; assist with erecting & fitting work; cover Hole Entry Safety work or Fire Watching on a rota basis.
  • Coded Spec Pipe & Plate Welders: weld pipework & plates, vessels, tanks, silos; work to coded specs with TIG, MIG FCAW or MMA; weld frames, supports, brackets as required.
  • Plater Welders & Fabricator Welders: cut out old sheet/plate with plasma & grinders; perform fabrication work; conduct higher spec welding with MIG, ideally MG FCAW, MMA & TIG.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Good all‑round skills/experience in Pipe Fitting & Mechanical Fitting or fabrication & welding work, depending on skill set.
  • At least part qualified or experience within C & G or NVQ Welding Fabrication, Plating, Sheet Metalwork or Pipe – Mechanical Fitting.

Certifications

  • Confined Space Medium Risk or High Risk Certificate, or Rescue Techs & Ops Certificate.
  • Ideally Fire Watching & First Aid at Work & Abrasive Wheels Certificates.
  • Ideally CSCS Card or CCNSG Safety Passport.

Working Hours

0700 – 1700 + 47.50 to 57.5 hours Mon – Fri; post‑work 0600 – 1700 or 0700 – 1800 as required; also 0600 or 0700 – 1330 Sat as required.


Term

Temporary 4 to 8 weeks with good chance of longer‑term role of 12 to 18 weeks subject to attendance, timekeeping, suitability for the type of work and workload.


Pay

Temporary: Semi‑Skilled £19.50+ & Mates £17.50+ per hour basic up to 60 hrs Mon – Fri plus extra £5+ per hour on Sat via Payment Company on CIS or PAYE Basis depending on Skills/Quals.
