Community Rehabilitation Physiotherapist – Band 6


Location: Cumnock, East Ayrshire


Pay Rate: £32.37 per hour


Contract Type: Ongoing


Working Pattern: Full-time only


Important Eligibility Criteria


To be considered for this role, applicants must be able to work full-time hours, be HCPC registered, have a minimum of 2 years’ UK Physiotherapy experience, and must not require sponsorship to work in the UK. Unfortunately, candidates who do not meet these criteria cannot be considered.


Sanctuary Personnel is currently recruiting an experienced Band 6 Community Rehabilitation Physiotherapist to join a well-established community physiotherapy service in East Ayrshire. This role is based primarily within a community rehabilitation ward setting, supporting patients across inpatient and community environments.


This is an excellent opportunity for a senior physiotherapist seeking a rewarding community physiotherapy job with a strong focus on rehabilitation, autonomy, and multidisciplinary working.


The Role

As a Band 6 Physiotherapist, you will work in a senior clinical capacity, delivering high-quality rehabilitation to patients under the care of the Community Physiotherapy Team. The role involves autonomous practice and advanced clinical decision-making within a rehabilitation ward and wider community settings.


You will be responsible for managing a complex caseload, supporting service development, and contributing to professional leadership and education within the team.


Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive physiotherapy assessments, diagnoses, and treatment plans for patients in community and inpatient rehabilitation settings
  • Provide specialist rehabilitation physiotherapy for individuals with complex needs, including frailty, chronic illness, and multiple comorbidities
  • Manage a varied caseload autonomously while prioritising patient safety and outcomes
  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, contributing to holistic patient care
  • Support discharge planning and community reintegration
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation in line with professional and organisational standards
  • Contribute to service improvement, student supervision, and professional development activities

Requirements

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Physiotherapy
  • HCPC registration as a Physiotherapist
  • Minimum 2 years’ UK-based physiotherapy experience
  • Proven experience working at Band 6 level or equivalent
  • Strong background in community rehabilitation, inpatient rehab, or intermediate care
  • Ability to work independently with advanced clinical reasoning skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
