Due to a maternity leave an opportunity has arisen for a 6‑month fixed‑term position to join the North Kerrier Community Rehab Team working as a specialist physiotherapist or occupational therapist.


The post is for 11.25 hours per week. The service currently operates Monday to Friday (except bank holidays).


The community team treats a wide range of conditions including stroke, Parkinson’s, orthopaedics, amputees and frailty. You will work closely with team leads, clinical band 7 physiotherapists, community occupational therapy colleagues and support workers.


Main duties of the job

  • To provide a high standard physiotherapy/occupational therapy service, performing advanced assessments of patients including those with highly complex presentations, and from this formulating a diagnosis and treatment plan.
  • To provide leadership for support staff and junior staff through supervision, training and appraisal.
  • To participate in the planning and development of physiotherapy services within each team.
  • To work in a variety of settings predominantly community, but also supporting inpatients when required.

Person Specification
Education / Qualifications and Relevant Experience

  • Professional qualification in physiotherapy/occupational therapy
  • Broad range of post‑graduate experience in medical, surgical, respiratory, orthopaedic, and neurological settings
  • HCPC registered
  • Experience of managing people, including qualified and unqualified, in clinical care
  • High level of assessment and treatment skills
  • Commitment to and understanding of teams and team working

Knowledge and Abilities

  • Ability to organise, prioritise and delegate
  • Experience of managing the risks associated with managing patients unsupervised and in a lone working environment
