You will contribute to care planning, risk assessment and goal setting, represent the therapy team in multidisciplinary meetings, support hydrotherapy and rebound sessions, oversee specialist equipment safety, and provide training and guidance to staff to ensure physiotherapy is fully embedded within a holistic framework of care.
Main duties of the job
You will hold a recognised national Physiotherapy qualification and be registered with the HCPC, with evidence of recent relevant CPD and a commitment to keeping up to date with professional practice and emerging research. With over two years post-qualification experience, you will bring strong clinical reasoning skills and experience of multi-professional working, including liaison with external professionals and the ability to confidently lead meetings. You will demonstrate high professional standards, accountability in your role, and a commitment to person-centred practice.

Main purpose of the job
To provide Physiotherapy to students and young people as a part of a holistic approach to person centred support to maximise independence and physical wellbeing.
Duties and responsibilities
Work collaboratively with health and therapy services in facilitating high professional standards of Physiotherapy at the InFocus Charity.
Take Responsibility for Physiotherapy provision for students and young people throughout our college, through the extended curriculum, and adult service.
Maintain and develop standards of Physiotherapy service at InFocus.
Represent the therapy team in multi-disciplinary meetings.
Lead and attend meetings as required both on and off site.
Complete assessment for prospective students and young people prior to commencement at InFocus Charity or as part of the transition process. Review these assessments regularly and as circumstances change.
Take responsibility for the delivery, monitoring, implementation and evaluation of a high standard of Physiotherapy which promotes the independence, physical wellbeing, health and care of students and young people. Take on additional duties which could be off campus as a part of new initiatives of InFocus Charity.
Ensure all students and young people have high quality programmes of Physiotherapy which are shared with circle of support within a holistic framework.
Provide high quality training and assessment for staff to ensure Physiotherapy is an integral part of the young persons life.
Have current HCPC and Chartered Society of Physiotherapy registration and comply with CPD requirements using guidance from both.
Quality assure Physiotherapy provision and contribute to the Improvement Plans to raise standards of Physiotherapy.
Maintain records in accordance with the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy and InFocus Charity.
Contribute to care planning, risk assessment and goal setting for each young person as well as reports for reviews.
Complete regular analysis and audit of Physiotherapy provision for development of the service.
Ensuring specialist equipment is used safely and withdrawn from use if unsafe or inappropriate for the young person.
To liaise with external professionals relating to the needs of the young person.
To support the day-to-day management of the work of the specialist Physiotherapy assistant.
To be able to support and run hydrotherapy sessions including writing programmes and progressing treatment plans
To attend Rebound training and plan/run sessions for students and residents
Safeguarding
To recognise the signs of abuse and immediately report abuse or suspected abuse to the Safeguarding Team and record on the InFocus IT system
To protect the confidentiality of all information relating to the young people and not divulge information to anyone who is not authorised to receive it
To work within InFocuss intervention policies to ensure the safety of staff and young people is maintained
To accurately record and assess incidents and accidents on InFocuss IT systems
To record detailed and accurate records of daily activities, progress made by young people, care and support given and tasks undertaken
To actively support the young people who are unwell by monitoring their condition, observing and recording on IT systems and notifying relevant staff
To utilise a range of InFocus IT systems and regularly check electronic communications to keep abreast of changes and respond to requests
To be responsible for updating and maintaining InFocuss IT systems to ensure that care plans, protocols and risk assessments are produced and implemented for all young people; within agreed standards
To ensure young people are safe and that any safeguarding issues are accurately recognised, reported and recorded in line with our policies and procedures

- Evidence of recent relevant CPD

- Experience of delivering training
- Experience of working with Neurological and /or learning disabilities
