Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a Specialist Physiotherapist to join the Care of Elderly team at Princess Alexandra Hospital. You will be responsible for providing a high standard of assessment, advice, treatment, and evaluation to patients referred to the acute inpatient physiotherapy service, including those with complex physical and psychological conditions. You will support patients across elderly wards as well as the specialist hip fracture ward. You will build on your previous experience to further develop your clinical and managerial skills, working as an autonomous professional in line with the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy rules of professional conduct and standards, as well as the Health Professions Council regulations.

Main duties of the job

As a Specialist Physiotherapist, you will manage your own caseload independently and ensure seamless continuity of physiotherapy care during patient transfers or discharge. You will supervise and support junior physiotherapy staff and assistants, as well as contribute to the clinical education of physiotherapy students on placement. You will participate in service improvement initiatives, audits, research projects, and seven-day working as required.
