A vacancy has arisen for an Apprentice Mechanic to join our team, the post will be based in either Helensburgh/Dunoon, working for Argyll and Bute.

The successful candidate will assist the Fleet, Waste & Infrastructure team to deliver an efficient, effective and high-quality service to users by assisting with the inspection, servicing, fault diagnosis and repair of all plant and vehicles used by the council and for all related activities as required. Assist in the good housekeeping of the workshop environment and adherence to all Health and Safety processes at all times.


You will be expected to;



  1. Attend College and complete Vocational Qualifications Modules as required to become fully qualified technician.
  2. Attend any training courses on vehicles, plant and equipment as necessarily identified by management.
