What you'll be doing:
You'll play a key role in delivering innovative smart building solutions by:

  • Meeting clients and listening to their needs and identifying opportunities to improve building functionality.
  • Designing smart building systems - from small-scale installations to large, complex developments.
  • Collaborating with their vibrant multidisciplinary team across Smart Buildings, BMS, ICT, Security, and AV.
  • Coordinating with architects, engineers, and project delivery teams to bring smart building visions to life.
  • Producing technical documents such as reports, specifications, drawings, and operational sequences.
  • Presenting complex ideas clearly - whether to a fellow engineer or a less technical client.
  • Support business development and help grow their digital buildings offering.
  • Stay hands-on with project design, specification, and documentation.
  • Be a trusted advisor in BMS and smart building integration.
  • Lead commissioning activities and witness system testing on behalf of their clients.
  • Preparing technical reports and presentations, conveying technical concepts to individuals who may have varying levels of understanding.
  • Participate in business related activities (non-Project) such as business development and relationship building within the industry.

    You'll also be involved in:
  • Supporting project planning, delivery, and quality assurance.
  • Participating in industry events and helping promote their expertise.
  • Sharing your knowledge and mentoring others.
  • Growing alongside them in an industry that's constantly evolving.

    Experience & Qualifications:
  • A degree in Engineering or a related field, or equivalent industry experience (min. 3 years).
  • Background in building controls, BMS, integration, or IOT, or Smart Building tech.
  • Experience writing specifications, commissioning, or developing controls software.
  • Ability to deliver engaging, audience-appropriate technical reports and presentations.
  • Experience working in a consultancy is advantageous but not compulsory.

    Skills that will help you succeed:
  • Our client is looking for someone who is outgoing and who is confident to face clients and able to work independently.
  • Confidence in managing client relationships and translating technical ideas clearly.
  • An eye for panel designs and schematics.
  • Interest in IT, cybersecurity, and IoT (e.g., MQTT, analytics platforms).
  • Familiarity with AV, CCTV, Access Control, and ICT systems.
  • Confidence in managing client relationships and translating technical ideas clearly.
  • Experience with BMS systems such as Trend, Tridium, or Niagara.
