Learning Specialist

Hybrid | Home-based with regular travel across Bristol, Gloucestershire and the West

Competitive salary + Car allowance £320 pcm

Full Time | 37.5 hours per week

At Hft, our vision is simple yet ambitious: to create a future where learning disabled people can live the best life possible.

We're looking for an experienced and passionate Learning Specialist to join our Learning & Development team. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real impact by equipping our frontline colleagues with the skills, confidence and knowledge they need to deliver outstanding, person-centred support.

This is a hybrid role, working primarily from home, with regular travel to our services across Bristol and Gloucestershire to deliver face-to-face learning, coach colleagues in practice and build strong relationships with operational teams. Applicants should therefore be based within reasonable travelling distance of these areas.

What you'll be doing

As one of our Learning Specialists, you'll design, deliver and continuously improve engaging learning experiences that support colleagues throughout their journey at Hft.

From delivering induction and mandatory training to developing blended learning solutions and supporting apprenticeship programmes, you'll play a key role in ensuring our teams have the knowledge and confidence to provide exceptional care.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering engaging face-to-face, virtual and e-learning programmes.
  • Supporting new starters through our induction programme and embedding the Care Certificate standards.
  • Designing and developing innovative learning content for our Learning Management System.
  • Identifying learning needs and evaluating the effectiveness of training.
  • Supporting apprenticeship delivery and successful learner completion.
  • Working closely with managers to ensure learning is embedded into day-to-day practice.
  • Championing best practice, compliance and continuous improvement across our services.
  • Building strong relationships with colleagues across the organisation to support learning and development initiatives.

About you

You'll be an enthusiastic and confident learning professional with experience within health and social care and a genuine passion for helping others succeed.

We're looking for someone who has:

  • Experience delivering learning and development programmes within health and social care.
  • Experience designing and delivering blended learning solutions.
  • Strong facilitation, coaching and presentation skills.
  • Experience identifying learning needs and evaluating training effectiveness.
  • Experience creating engaging digital learning content for a Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder management skills.
  • A proactive approach with the ability to inspire and engage learners.

Why join Hft?

This is far more than a training role—it's an opportunity to influence the quality of support experienced by thousands of people with learning disabilities.

You'll join a collaborative and supportive People team where your ideas are welcomed, innovation is encouraged, and your work genuinely makes a difference.

Our Values

Everything we do is guided by our values:

Kind– We lead with compassion.

Positive – We focus on solutions and work together.

If you're passionate about developing people, enjoy working collaboratively and want to make a meaningful difference every day, we'd love to hear from you.

Apply today and help us create a future where learning disabled people can live the best life possible
