Are you a technically minded sales professional with a deep understanding for smart building solutions and Building Management Systems? We're seeking a dynamic and driven BMS & Smart Building Sales Engineer to join a forward-thinking systems integrator, supporting ambitious growth plans through strategic sales, expert technical consultation, and first-class client service.

This is an outstanding opportunity to play a key role in shaping how intelligent buildings operate, working across a diverse customer base—from M&E contractors and FM providers to retailers and consultants.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Identify and engage with prospective clients across construction, FM, M&E, retail, and consultancy sectors to promote advanced BMS and smart building solutions

  • Lead the end-to-end sales process, from initial outreach through to solution presentation and closing, ensuring alignment with customer requirements and project outcomes

  • Interpret mechanical and electrical specifications, schematics, and tender documentation to produce accurate cost estimates and quotations for BMS installations

  • Prepare competitive proposals, bids, and tenders that reflect the technical scope, labour, and materials, tailored to each client's operational and energy objectives

  • Conduct on-site assessments and technical feasibility studies to determine optimal system configurations and ensure effective integration

  • Deliver technical support and consultancy to clients, assisting them in understanding BMS functionality, interoperability, and performance outcomes

  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, and project delivery teams to ensure sales commitments are technically deliverable and commercially viable

  • Act as a liaison between sales and engineering, translating client expectations into technical specifications and supporting project delivery teams to maintain continuity and compliance

  • Stay informed on product developments, system architecture innovations, and emerging market trends—particularly around Distech, Trend, Siemens, Tridium, Delta, iSMA, and cloud-integrated solutions

  • Support internal training and client onboarding activities by delivering product demonstrations and tailored knowledge-sharing sessions

  • Provide regular sales performance updates, pipeline forecasts, and market insights to the commercial leadership team

    Skills Required:

  • Previous experience in technical sales within the BMS, controls, or HVAC sector, ideally with a background in estimation and system design

  • Solid understanding of smart building technologies, energy management systems, and IoT integration within the built environment

  • Familiarity with relevant hardware and software platforms used in modern BMS installations, including open protocol systems and cloud-based analytics

  • Strong commercial acumen, with an ability to negotiate, influence, and build rapport across diverse stakeholder groups

  • Organised, self-motivated, and capable of managing multiple opportunities in a fast-paced, client-driven environment

  • Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively within cross-functional project and sales teams

You’ll be reporting into the senior leadership team and collaborating closely with both engineering and delivery teams – ensuring client satisfaction is front and centre from pre-sales through to final handover.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, thrives on technical problem-solving and is passionate about helping clients make smarter, more sustainable buildings.

Where to Advertise Edge Computing Jobs in the UK (2026 Guide)

Advertising edge computing jobs in the UK requires a different approach to most technical hiring. Edge computing sits at the intersection of embedded systems, networking, cloud infrastructure and real-time data processing — and the professionals who specialise in it are a small, highly technical community not well served by general job boards. Candidates with genuine edge and IoT expertise are rarely browsing general platforms, and roles in this space are frequently misunderstood or miscategorised by non-specialist recruiters. This guide, published by EdgeComputingJobs.co.uk, covers where to advertise edge computing roles in the UK in 2026, how the main platforms compare, what employers should expect to pay, and what the data says about hiring across different role types.

Edge Computing Jobs UK 2026: What to Expect Over the Next 3 Years

Edge computing is quietly becoming one of the most consequential technology shifts of the decade — and the jobs market is starting to reflect that. As the limitations of centralised cloud infrastructure become apparent across industries that require real-time processing, ultra-low latency, and data sovereignty, the demand for professionals who can design, build, and manage computing at the edge has moved from niche to mainstream. But the edge computing jobs market of 2026 is not yet the mature, well-defined landscape that cloud computing has become. It is still forming. New architectures are emerging, standards are being established, and the range of industries deploying edge infrastructure is expanding rapidly — from manufacturing and telecommunications to healthcare, retail, autonomous vehicles, and smart cities. That creates a particular kind of opportunity for job seekers: the chance to build deep expertise in a discipline that is growing faster than the talent pipeline serving it. The candidates who will thrive over the next three years are those who understand where edge computing is heading — which use cases are driving commercial deployment, which technologies are defining the architecture of distributed systems, and how the skills required to work at the edge differ meaningfully from those that served professionals well in centralised cloud environments. This article breaks down what the UK edge computing jobs market is likely to look like through to 2028 — covering the titles emerging right now, the technologies driving employer demand, the skills that will matter most, and how to position your career ahead of the curve.

New Edge Computing Employers to Watch in 2026: UK and Global Companies Shaping Edge Innovation

Edge computing is transforming how data is processed by bringing compute power closer to the source of generation. With the proliferation of Internet of Things (IoT), real‑time analytics, autonomous systems, and latency‑sensitive applications, edge computing has moved from a niche discipline to a core component of digital infrastructure. In 2026, organisations that specialise in or heavily invest in edge computing are expanding their teams to build distributed systems, real‑time analytics platforms, and edge‑optimised AI. For professionals exploring opportunities on www.EdgeComputingJobs.co.uk , understanding which employers are growing, winning contracts, or securing investment is essential. This article highlights the new and high‑growth edge computing employers to watch in 2026, including UK startups, international innovators with a UK presence, and established companies shifting strategy toward edge.
