Overview

Static Mechanical & Electrical Engineer role at EQUANS UK & Ireland. This is a permanent full-time position working 40 hours per week on the HMCTS contract at Liverpool Crown Court. Competitive salary and benefits package included.

Responsibilities
  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on a wide variety of Mechanical Building Services Engineering Assets, ensuring safe and timely completion in line with contract outputs and Equans processes. Includes Legionella control and monitoring.
  • Perform routine PPM on electrical infrastructure and plant in accordance with site task schedules and CAFM.
  • Complete reactive tasks and proactively identify areas for improvement.
  • Remedy plant faults and defects to maintain in-service plant.
  • Maintain suitable spares, provide parts lists and estimated timescales for remedial works.
  • Complete all relevant paperwork/CAFM for PPM, reactive and breakdown works and forward to contract administrator without delay.
  • Prepare and use Method Statements and Risk Assessments for safe working practices.
  • Develop constructive working relationships with Equans staff, subcontractors and client representatives.
  • Provide a Safe and Healthy working environment with appropriate PPE at all times and maintain a professional image of Equans.
  • Keep plant logs up to date and maintain clean, tidy plant rooms.
  • Supervise and monitor subcontractors on site during maintenance; arrange holiday and sickness cover as needed; undertake lone working when required after training.
  • Ensure tasks are actioned and completed, and compliance with contractual KPIs/SLA.
  • Operate a Permit to Work System in line with Equans' processes and client requirements (or approved client system).
  • Provide engineering support in emergency situations to ensure business continuity.
Client / Customer
  • Respond promptly to verbal and written requests.
  • Coordinate quotations with the contract manager and produce information for quotations.
Helpdesk - PPM
  • Support the Helpdesk with planned and reactive maintenance reporting/updating.
  • Be available for out-of-hours call-out support as required.
Compliance & SHEQ
  • Gain Technical Appointments as required (e.g., LVCP/Low/High Risk Pressure AP) and issue PTW and Isolation Certificates to Subcontractors and EQUANS staff.
  • Ensure compliance with the Written Scheme of Examination (PSSR) where detailed in contract; produce Condition/Dilapidation Reports as required.
  • Inform supervisor immediately if dangerous circumstances occur; comply with SHEQ requirements; ensure PPE safety; report accidents and near misses; calibration of test equipment; follow Method Statements and Risk Assessments for all works.
Impact

Deliver high-standard Building Maintenance as a reliable Mechanical Technician, able to work on own initiative or supervise subcontractors, and communicate findings effectively with clients.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Ability to fault-find, diagnose, and rectify complex mechanical faults unaided.
  • Excellent knowledge of mechanical systems and components.
  • Plan and oversee plant isolation and shutdowns for maintenance, inspection or remedial works.
