Active Neuro are seeking the amazing, to work with the amazing. Do you have what it takes to be a part of this exciting new journey? We are looking for an enthusiastic physiotherapist with an interest in neuro and respiratory rehabilitation.

We have invested in the refurbishment of an existing service and state of the art robotic technology, to enhance the outcomes we deliver to our clients. A full suite of technology including equipment such as the Luna EMG Premium and the ExoMotus M4 are enabling therapists to provide intensive goal orientated rehabilitation.

Our services also include a high dependency unit with tracheostomy clients. They require input for rehabilitation, chest management and maintenance.

Main duties of the job

Successful candidates will be working in a dynamic multidisciplinary team that provides a full spectrum of therapeutic input allowing clients to engage in rehabilitation as an inpatient, and outpatient and then carrying their achievements into their lives.

Our clients have experienced catastrophic life changing injuries and require a holistic approach in order to achieve their maximum potential.

As a member of this team, you will be supported with your training and CPD needs and desires. You will be an integral part of forming the service to deliver what our clients need.

We encourage research and development with our local university partners, and you will be part of a team that is passionate about taking therapy to the next level engaging in and potentially presenting evidenced based proof that therapists are fabulous!

Conference attendance and networking events are a regular part of the work we undertake, as we not only work with our NHS colleagues but also with clients who choose to self-fund their rehabilitation and with medico legal case managers and solicitors.

The role:

As a Specialist Physiotherapist, you will:

  • Deliver a high-quality physiotherapy service as an integral part of the multidisciplinary team.
  • Carry out specialist assessments independently for patients with complex neurological conditions.
  • Develop personalised problem lists, treatment plans, and rehabilitation goals.
  • Complete complex respiratory assessments and treatment sessions.
  • Design and implement 24-hour postural management programmes, including specialist seating, positioning, and splinting.
  • Assess and manage increased muscle tone and spasticity.
  • Provide supervision, guidance, and support to therapy assistants and student physiotherapists.
  • Contribute to the teaching and education of relatives, carers, and MDT colleagues.
  • Actively engage in multidisciplinary team meetings, offering feedback and collaborative input.
  • Produce detailed, comprehensive review reports for patients, families, and commissioners.
  • Foster effective collaboration and communication within the MDT.
  • Safeguard individuals from harm and uphold their human rights.

Person SpecificationQualifications
  • HCPC registration.
Experience
  • Post-qualification experience in neurorehabilitation or complex care (including ABI/TBI).
  • Well-developed clinical reasoning skills and a commitment to person-centred practice.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and contribute to a positive team culture.
  • Enthusiasm for developing skills, embracing innovation, and contributing to service improvement.
