AMP8 is an exciting time for the water industry with record levels of investment and growth plans. We are seeking a Senior Principal Mechanical Engineer in the South West and Midlands.


This role can be based in Bristol, Cardiff, Exeter, Birmingham, Derby or Redditch. You will be involved in the full project life cycle, from feasibility and optioneering to detailed design and construction support, including site surveys and investigations.


You will lead mechanical design for infrastructure and non‑infrastructure projects such as water/wastewater treatment plants, conveyance systems, and pumping stations. You will work closely with project managers, technical leaders, design engineers, clients, supply chain partners, contractors, planners and other stakeholders to deliver positive project outcomes. You will also mentor and manage other engineers.


Qualifications

  • Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or related subject, ideally holding Chartered status or working toward.
  • Previous experience in detailed design within the water industry; experience with delivery contractors is beneficial.
  • Experience developing and leading engineers, taking on full line management responsibilities.
