Overview

Senior Principal Mechanical Engineer - Water Sector role at Stantec. This position is based in the South West or Midlands and can be located in Bristol, Cardiff, Exeter, Birmingham, Derby, or Redditch. You will be involved in the full project life cycle, from feasibility and optioneering through to detailed design and construction support, including site surveys and investigations.

Responsibilities

You will lead mechanical design for infrastructure and non-infrastructure projects, including water/wastewater treatment plants, conveyance systems, pumping stations and more. You will work closely with project managers, technical leaders, design engineers, clients, supply chain partners, contractors, planners and other stakeholders to deliver positive project outcomes. You will also be responsible for the mentorship and management of other engineers within the team.

About You

You will be degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or another relevant subject, ideally holding Chartered status or working toward it. You will have previous experience of working in detailed design within the water industry, and a background working for/with delivery contractors would be beneficial. You will also have experience of developing and leading engineers, taking on full line management responsibilities.
