Senior Mechanical Project Engineer role at NG Bailey – Plymouth, United Kingdom. This is a permanent position with a competitive salary, car/car allowance, and flexible benefits.


Note: due to the nature of work on the project, the successful candidate will be required to obtain security clearance. We can only accept applications from British nationals who have not worked outside the UK in the last 5 years.


Responsibilities

  • In this role you will control the overall operational delivery of a project (or part thereof), taking account of safety, technical, commercial and managerial requirements through the full lifecycle from bid and pre-commencement to successful completion.
  • Ensure profitability is maintained or improved through effective leadership and management of the support functions and high-quality customer relationships.
  • Lead the team, including specialist sub-contractors, through all stages of the project to successful completion.
  • Lead contract reviews, including preparation and submission of reports and any project-related data.
  • Prepare and update business plans with the Commercial Director.
  • Develop and maintain positive long-term customer relationships.
  • Ensure that safety is visible and prioritized in all project activities.
  • Participate in bid activities to ensure professional, profitable bids that meet customer expectations.
  • Manage pre-commencement activities in conjunction with the Pre-construction Manager.
  • Maximise opportunities, efficiency and profitability during the delivery phase.
  • Review scope of works and installation methods to precisely capture customer requirements.
  • Identify and manage project risks.

What we're looking for

  • Demonstrable mechanical building services experience in a construction environment, with prior experience in a similar role.
  • Industry-recognised trade or professional qualification.
  • Apprenticeship in mechanical discipline.
  • Specific experience of working on high-value projects.
