About the Role
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you'll play a key role in the conceptual design and detailed development of complex mechanical systems and assemblies. You'll work within a multidisciplinary engineering team, developing solutions that meet demanding performance, quality, and safety requirements for next-generation high-performance systems.

This is a hands-on, fast-paced position that offers autonomy, technical challenge, and the opportunity to make a lasting impact in an organisation leading innovation in its sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and delivery of components and assemblies supporting mechanical integration of complex electro-mechanical systems.
  • Create and develop concepts from a blank sheet through to detailed manufacturing drawings using 3D CAD tools (CATIA V6 or equivalent).
  • Translate high-level product targets into system-level engineering requirements.
  • Apply systems engineering principles and collaborate closely with multi-disciplinary project teams.
  • Specify materials, surface treatments, and tolerances for high-load, harsh-environment applications.
  • Ensure all designs are optimised for weight, cost, performance, and certification compliance.
  • Produce clear, high-quality documentation to support manufacturing, testing, and customer use.
  • Support prototype build, testing, and product validation activities.
  • Champion continuous improvement and contribute to the introduction of new tools, methods, and technologies.

About You
Education & Experience:

  • Degree in Mechanical, Automotive, or Aerospace Engineering (2:1 or higher). MEng or equivalent desirable.
  • At least 5 years' experience in a marine, motorsport, or aerospace environment (or similar high-performance engineering sector).

Technical Expertise:

  • Skilled in 3D design and detailed drawing creation for precision-engineered components and assemblies.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes including machining, casting, forming, moulding, and welding.
  • Experience with material selection and surface treatments for highly loaded components in demanding environments.
  • Strong analytical ability and experience with R&D, testing, and prototype development.
  • Familiarity with model-based design, simulation, and finite element analysis desirable.
  • Able to apply first-principles thinking and complete hand calculations to support design decisions.
