Senior Mechanical Engineer / Lead Mechanical Engineer


Location: Austin, TX


Compensation: $130,000 - $250,000


Senior Mechanical Engineer / Lead Mechanical Engineer required to join a rapidly growing robotics company developing next-generation autonomous systems for real-world environments based in Austin, TX.

Responsibilities

  • Own design and integration of multiple mechanical and electromechanical systems through all stages of product maturity
  • Translate high-level requirements into practical design solutions alongside the founding team
  • Prototype rapidly and validate concepts through hands-on testing and iteration
  • Develop CAD models, detailed drawings, and physical prototypes
  • Lead reviews of designs, procedures, and assemblies, providing engineering feedback and recommendations
  • Perform mechanical analysis for strength, reliability, and manufacturability
  • Create and execute test procedures, jigs, and validation fixtures
  • Conduct root cause analysis for hardware failures in development or deployment

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or an engineering discipline
  • Previous experience as a Senior Mechanical Engineer / Lead Mechanical Engineer
  • 5+ years of experience in mechanical design and analysis for complex systems
  • Proven experience with full product lifecycle—from design and prototyping to production
  • Proficiency in CAD and FEA tools (SolidWorks, Ansys, or equivalent)
  • Prior experience in startups or high-growth engineering environments
  • Willing to relocate or based in Austin, TX
