Location: North Wales Full-Time Permanent


The Opportunity

We re supporting a well-established and growing manufacturer who are looking to appoint a Senior Design Engineer to play a key role in their expanding engineering team.


This is a hands-on, lead design role where you ll have real ownership of products, projects and engineering decisions - ideal for an engineer who enjoys seeing designs progress from concept through to manufacture and real-world use.


The role would suit someone with experience in vehicle conversion, truck/wagon design, structural assemblies, automotive, aerospace, off-highway, rail or bespoke machinery.


What You ll Be Doing

  • Leading design activities on current and future products.
  • Producing conceptual and detailed 3D designs and manufacturing drawings (SolidWorks or similar).
  • Designing across chassis, suspension, axles, structures and welded fabrications.
  • Supporting prototype builds, validation, testing and continuous improvement.
  • Ensuring designs meet internal standards, regulatory requirements and design-for-manufacture principles.
  • Working closely with manufacturing, purchasing and test teams to ensure smooth product delivery.
  • Playing a key role in new product development and influencing internal engineering processes.

What We re Looking For

  • Proven mechanical design experience within one or more of the following:

    • Automotive
    • Trailers & transport
    • Heavy engineering
    • Agricultural/off-road
    • Aerospace, rail or bespoke machinery


  • Strong understanding of structural design, load paths and static/dynamic loading (finite element experience beneficial).
  • Proficient in 3D CAD (SolidWorks, Inventor or similar).
  • Experience with some or all of the following:

    • Welded fabrications
    • Cast and machined components
    • Hydraulics and mechanical linkages


  • A confident communicator who enjoys taking ownership and driving projects forward.
