Equans Data Centers are seeking to appoint Project Engineer – Mechanical, to support our growing Data Centre business in Newport, South Wales. The Project Engineer – Mechanical will be part of the team responsible for managing the construction aspects of large projects from inception to completion, within set timescales, to high quality standards and within health and safety guidelines.

What you will deliver
  • Assist in ensuring that work is carried out in full conformance with quality, environmental and safety standards
  • Assist with co-ordinate and control the on-site construction process ensuring the site build progresses in line with plan
  • Liaise with Statutory Authorities and Local Authorities as directed by the Site Manager in the submission of all Building Regulation cards as required to allow the progress of the project
  • Attend site meetings, effectively communicate and provide information for Progress Reports
  • Chair and minute the subcontractor meetings in the absence of the Site or Project Manager
  • Assist the Site Manager in the management of materials
  • Record keeping (diary, drawing register, H&S, COSHH Assessments, As built drawings, Levels & Foundations records, site H&S file)
  • Assist in ensuring that work is carried out in full conformance with quality environmental and safety requirements

Who are we looking for
  • Experience working with a main contractor or large subcontractor
  • Proven technical knowledge of Mechanical Services
  • Knowledge and skills to effectively problem solve
  • A keen desire to continually develop knowledge further
  • Be self-motivated, with proven organisational ability and the drive to meet deadlines
  • Customer focused with the ability to communicate effectively with clients
  • Attention to Health and Safety matters
  • Commercially astute
  • Experience in the data centres sector is desirable
  • Degree or equivalent in a Mechanical discipline is desirable
