As a result of recent successes and the development of new projects and clients, Stantec are looking to speak with Principal Mechanical Engineers for future opportunities in the coming months into our Energy & Resources team. Can be based in any of our UK offices but will ideally be reachable from the Midlands or Newcastle.

Working as part of our Waste and Team, you will have an opportunity to work on a wide variety of projects including conventional EfW plants, district heating, gasification projects, hydrogen schemes and multiple biogas production projects.

In this role you will be involved in the whole project life cycle, from optioneering through to detailed design and installation. You will be involved with feasibility studies, site surveys and investigations. You will work collaboratively with clients, partners and other team members to develop designs and project-wide solutions across a wide variety of projects across Stantec's Energy and Resources sector.

As Designers in the construction/energy/waste sectors it is incumbent on us to take our responsibility for HSE matters seriously and we foster a culture of open scrutiny and continuous improvement in these areas.

About You

You will have experience within Mechanical Engineering or a related field ideally with experience with the energy/power sector or related process plant sector, and be either chartered or be working towards chartered status.

Our team are routinely engaged in producing technical specifications across a wide range of technologies (e.g. Steam, piping, hydrogen, biomass, EfW plants etc), schedules and reports. We support collaborative design outputs, such as General Arrangement Drawings, 3D models and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams. You should have a good understanding of a number of these activities and be happy to communicate technical updates to clients and team members.

Our team will be expected to create specifications and scoping documents for award of construction packages and assess vendor designs and progress. Ideally you would demonstrate some experience in these areas.
