Overview

Berkshire Healthcare are seeking an organised and motivated candidate for a part time (30 hours a week) Band 3 MSK Physiotherapy Assistant role in the Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy Outpatient team based at Wokingham Hospital. This role supports physiotherapy services through delivering exercise programmes, basic hands-on therapies, patient education and administrative duties. Training is provided in the modalities used.

Responsibilities
  • Assisting the physiotherapists in the delivery of individual and group exercise programmes. This may involve delivering exercise sessions, hands on therapies such as massage and patient education. All patients are initially assessed by the physiotherapist.
  • Ensuring stock and equipment levels are maintained and re-ordered on a regular basis; ensuring equipment is well maintained and clean in line with infection control guidelines.
  • Carrying own patient caseload with simple, predictable conditions delegated by a therapist.
  • Assisting in the administrative duties of the physiotherapy service when required, including reception duties, data inputting, photocopying, assisting with audits and completing patient records.

Qualifications and skills
  • The ability to work as part of a team with patience and empathy
  • Good computer skills across Microsoft and database software
  • Ability to organise and prioritise
  • Excellent communication skills
