Join UPS as a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer East Midlands Airport

If so, we want you on our team. UPS is seeking a talented and driven Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to support our package handling operations in East Midlands Airport. Shift Rotation:
The position follows a 3-week rotation schedule (Monday to Friday):
Morning shift (06:00 14:00)

Afternoon shift (14:00 22:00)

Night shift (22:00 06:00)

What Youll Be Doing:
Conduct regular inspections and servicing of conveyor systems to identify and address potential issues before they lead to breakdowns.

Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on conveyor and facility systems.

Carry out mechanical maintenance, including bearings, belts, hydraulics, and pneumatics.

Work on hydraulic and pneumatic systems used in sortation equipment.

Assist in the installation of new machinery or facility equipment when required.

Respond promptly to equipment failures, diagnosing and rectifying faults to minimize downtime. Ensure minimal downtime by responding quickly to emergencies.

Analyze root causes of recurring issues and implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for enhancing equipment performance and reliability.

Participate in projects aimed at upgrading or optimizing sortation systems within the facility.

Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including service reports and fault logs.

Provide detailed shift reports to supervisors, highlighting completed tasks and any outstanding issues.

Adhere to and promote health and safety policies to maintain a safe working environment.

Monitor the performance and condition of mechanical assets, recommending replacements or upgrades as necessary.

Qualifications:
NVQ Level 3and above in related engineering

Equipment maintenance experience including mechanical, electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics and welding-Preferred

Proficiency in fault-finding and repair of mechanical systems, including conveyor belts, pneumatic and hydraulic systems

Experience in using SCADA systems and other diagnostic tools for troubleshooting - Added advantage

Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating initiative and problem-solving skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
