Job Title: Part time Principal Mechanical Design Engineers

Salary: Competitive depending on experience

Location: Stevenage (We may be able to offer a relocation package for this role)

Dynamic (hybrid) working: 2-3 days per week on-site due to workload classification

Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship. Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.

You will be joining like-minded enthusiastic teams, working on a diverse range of world class products; leading the development of mechanical solutions on a wide variety of complex weapons and weapon systems whilst collaborating with wider multi-disciplinary teams.

Responsibilities
  • Lead mechanical design work packages and work within a multi-disciplinary team with awareness of associated challenges.
  • Contribute to the Product Life Cycle (CADMID) with robust design practices.
  • Engage in proving and qualification activities to ensure compliance against requirements.
What we're looking for (Qualifications)
  • Ideally Degree/HND/HNC qualified with experience in Mechanical Design and Development in one of the following areas: Mechanisms, Structures, Assembly and Integration, Concept down selection and development.
  • Ability to lead mechanical design work packages and collaborate across a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Awareness of proving and qualification activities to ensure compliance against requirements.
  • Robust design experience across the Product Life Cycle (CADMID).
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and negotiate with stakeholders across the business.

Note: These roles may require reasonable travel in the UK and could involve some travel in Europe.
