Paediatric Physiotherapist role at Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust.

We are a dynamic, friendly team seeking like-minded applicants. You will be an autonomous practitioner within a well-established team of clinicians and will manage a mixed caseload of children and young people, including neurological, developmental, and musculoskeletal conditions, across both town and rural locations. Travel will be required based on service need and access to a car and a UK driving licence will be essential for community work.

Our service provides assessment and intervention for children and young people with physical difficulties aged 0-19 years. We work in partnership with families and carers in settings including schools (special and mainstream), patient homes, and community clinics. You will use and develop your skills with a variety of approaches and treatment modalities and work closely with colleagues in other disciplines to provide a child-centred, holistic approach to care. You will also participate in the development of other staff and of the service. The Paediatric Physiotherapy Service provides clinical placements for Keele University students, and the post holder will be supported to become a clinical educator.

The role is based in and around the South East and South West Staffordshire locations; the exact base will be determined by the successful applicant. Bases include: Stafford, Cannock, Codsall, Burton, Lichfield, Tamworth, Rugeley.

Responsibilities
  • Undertake a physiotherapy role for assessment, diagnosis, and evidence-based treatment programmes for children in the most appropriate community location.
  • Be competent as appropriate to the requirements of the role and demonstrate the Organisation Values of People, Empowerment and Partnership.
  • Be a Specialist Physiotherapist with detailed professional and clinical knowledge.
  • Be responsible for a defined population of service users aged 0-19 years in settings including the child’s home, schools, and clinics across the Partnership Trust.
  • Be skilled in the assessment of complex/specialist care needs and in the development, implementation, and evaluation of care/support packages for children and families.
  • Have supervisory responsibilities where appropriate and participate in service development and improvement.
  • Demonstrate initiative and be creative in finding solutions to problems.
  • Work with the Team Leader undertaking delegated tasks in team management.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Essential: Degree in Physiotherapy or equivalent; HCPC Registration/Qualification
  • Essential: Experience of working as a Qualified Paediatric Physiotherapist
  • Essential: UK driving licence and access to own vehicle
  • Desirable: NHS experience
