Senior Mechanical Project Engineer

London | Hyper-Scale Data Centre Programme
A leading international M&E contractor delivering some of Europes most complex mission-critical facilities is growing its mechanical engineering team on a major London data centre project. This contractor is known for engineering excellence, long-term career development, and delivering high-value hyperscale campuses across the UK and EU.
This is a senior-level role with influence across design, delivery, coordination, quality and commissioning.
Role Overview
Lead mechanical engineering delivery across major mechanical packages
Drive design review, technical submittals, RFI management & design validation
Manage daily coordination between engineering, installation and commissioning teams
Oversee subcontractor performance, installation quality and programme adherence
Work with BIM, QA/QC and commissioning to align quality and handover requirements
Provide technical leadership, mentoring junior engineers and supporting project strategy
Interface with the client, consultant teams and internal leadership
Support project governance, weekly reporting, risk/issue tracking and milestone planning
What You Bring
610+ years mechanical engineering/project engineering experience
Exposure to mission-critical, data centre, pharma or complex MEP builds
Strong understanding of HVAC, refrigeration, chilled water, plant & pipework systems
Ability to manage large mechanical packages from design through commissioning
Leadership, communication and stakeholder management strengths
Strong documentation, technical reporting and problem-solving ability
