Job Title: Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

Location: Rochester, Kent

Shifts Pattern: Monday - Friday,

Week 1; Monday - Friday earlies, Week 2; Monday - Thursday lates

Salary: Circa £43,000 basic + Overtime Available (x1.5/x2) OTE 60k + !!

The Role

As a Maintenance Engineer, you will be crucial to keeping our automated production line running efficiently. Your responsibilities will be split between routine maintenance and high-impact project work:

  • Fault-Finding & Repair: Your primary focus will be on quick, effective fault-finding, repairs, and component replacements to minimize downtime.
  • Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM): Manage and execute your own PPM schedule, oversee daily checks, and ensure rigorous record-keeping.
  • Projects & Setup: Assist with the setup of new equipment and contribute to continuous improvement projects across the site.
  • Compliance: Ensure all work adheres to strict health and safety requirements.
Essential Requirements
  • Previous experience as a Maintenance Engineer within an automated manufacturing plant is essential.
  • Time-served Mechanical/Electrical apprenticeship or recognised Level 3 qualification in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering (must be a NVQ, BTEC, HND, HNC or ONC)
  • Familiarity with the repair and maintenance of industrial equipment, including: hydraulic, conveyor systems, pneumatics, and various motors, control systems, compressors, and machine tools.
  • Proven ability to manage your own PPM schedule, show strong initiative, and enjoy challenging yourself in a fast-paced environment.
