Mechanical Engineer needed for a well-known Facilities Management organisation based in Edinburgh who are looking to employ an experienced and well-rounded Mechanical Engineer that takes pride in their work.

The successful candidate must have a recognized Mechanical / Engineering apprenticeship and have a keen interest in becoming a Mechanical Engineer. The successful candidate must also hold - C&G, Scotvec SVQ3 / NVQ, or equivalent.

  • 24 day's holidays

What the role entails:

Some of the main duties of the Mechanical Engineer will include:

  • Undertake fault finding on complex medical gas systems, MTHW /LTHW pressure heating water systems, critical systems and equipment and pressurised steam systems
  • Using cause effect analysis and detailed examination to gain a solution and use of all relevant drawings and schematics
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance, inspections, commissioning and testing in accordance with published procedures, completing all report sheets and test certificates as necessary and mark up any drawing alterations
  • Use of all relevant tools and equipment within safety guidelines as necessary for the completion of works ensuring full compliance with EQUANS Guidelines and Controls e.g. Risk Assessment, Site Safety, Fire Safety, Control of Infection and Hazardous Substances
  • Work involves the use of analytical test devices, specialist tools, workshop fixed equipment, portable electrical equipment, welding equipment, emergency generators, medical gas equipment (patient use) suction units, geared drives

What experience you need to be the successful Mechanical Engineer:

  • Required qualifications are an appropriately recognised Mechanical/Engineering apprenticeship
  • This role includes a DS Basic check therefore ability to pass is essential.
