Rolls-Royce pioneers cutting-edge technologies that deliver clean, safe & competitive solutions to meet our planet's vital power needs.We are looking for a Mechanical Integrity Engineer on a 12-month contract based on site at Derby, who will support structural integrity assessments through stress analysis within the Civil Aerospace division, focusing on gas turbine components.Job DescriptionThe Mechanical Integrity Engineer supports the Design function by undertaking analysis of the proposed designs to ensure that they are robust and that they meet requirements. The Mechanical Integrity Engineer also makes recommendations to optimise the design and applies Robust Engineering (Design for Process Excellence) principles.Key Responsibilities:Perform mechanical design and analysis using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools, including ANSYS, Abaqus, Nastran, and SC03.Develop and validate numerical models with interdisciplinary boundary conditions; interpret results to drive design improvements.Plan, supervise, and analyse mechanical experiments on test rigs and engines, comparing outcomes with analytical models.Apply engineering judgment to solve complex technical problems using data from multiple sources.Deliver technical work packages aligned with programme milestones, cost, and quality targets.Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and advisory support across engineering teams.Promote continuous improvement in tools, processes, and methods while aligning work with company values and objectives.Qualifications & Experience:Bachelors or masters degree in engineering (or equivalent experience).Strong foundation in mechanical design and cross-disciplinary engineering (e.g., thermodynamics, stress analysis, manufacturing).Proficiency in FEA and experience with ANSYS, Abaqus, Nastran, and SC03.Knowledge of product integrity, certification frameworks, and final product definition.Analytical thinker with the ability to balance technical and business considerations.Membership of a relevant professional body; Chartered status (or equivalent) preferred.Excellent communication and presentation skills across all levels of the organization.Next steps:If you are interested in applying to the Mechanical Integrity Engineer position and meet the criteria outlined above, please click the link to apply and we will contact you with an update in due course.Please note that due to recent changes in Off Payroll (IR35) legislation, our client only operates with contractors that operate via a PAYE or Umbrella model.
